Srinagar, Oct 30 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Thursday said that the reopening of the tourist destinations Doodhpathri and Tosamaidan fall beyond the mandate of the Tourism Department as it involves security considerations.
In a written reply to a starred question tabled by MLA Saif-ud-Din Bhat, the Tourism Department, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that it intends to recommend the reopening of these destinations but the decision rests on security clearance.
“Yes sir. However, the matter regarding reopening of Doodhpathri and Tosamaidan involves security considerations which are beyond our mandate,” the reply stated.
The department added that a DO letter from the MLA Khansahib in this regard has been forwarded to the Deputy Commissioner Budgam for appropriate action—(KNO)
